HABA Toys
HABA assumes responsibility for the environment HABA's responsibility for the environment applies to the use of materials and energy and to the conservation of the natural environment. HABA passed Environment Standard ISO 14001 - continuing their policy of active protection of the environment – in every phase of production.
HABA Toy Manufacturing Process
Most HABA toys are designed and primarily manufactured in Germany (in a town called Bad Rodach in Upper Frankonia). HABA's wooden baby toys are mainly manufactured from Beech and Maple woods and ecological adhesives and lacquers with a water base. Multiple coats of lacquer renders a surface especially resistant to humidity and mechanical strain. Beech and Maple woods have a long tradition in the production of toys and wood is a naturally germ-free material. Wooden toys render a surface that has a wonderful warm feel.
All Haba's toys comply with European Standard EN 71 ’Toy Safety’, and whenever necessary Haba's toys and furniture are checked by authorized, independent institutes to ensure their safety Where necessary HABA's baby and children toys are examined by independent institutes to ensure they comply with current safety regulations and norms.

Plan Toys' production line is equipped with modern, high-standard machinery with strict quality control.
Plan Toys have received certification from both Europe ( EN 71 ) and the USA ( ASTM ) for the quality of their children toys.
Environmental Commitment:
The paper used in all of Plan Toys' packaging is recyclable. Plan Toys support the preservation of our natural environment.
Preservative – Free Rubberwood: Plan Toys' toys are made of replenishable rubberwood processed naturally, and free from any wood preservative.
PlanToys has been certified with Thai Labor Standard TLS 8001 and Social Accountability standard SA8000. Consequently, PlanToys has received a code of conduct rating of 7/8 from the Ethical Toys Report in UK

Quality
From Selecta's beginnings, Selecta have traditionally manufactured the majority of their products in their own factory so that, with the exception of a very few products, all of their products proudly bear the “Made in Germany” mark. Selecta monitors all of their products from the development stage right through to manufacture so that they can offer you the best possible guarantee of quality.

During the manufacturing process all components are subject to continuous quality control procedures which is how we are able to guarantee Selecta's high quality standards.

Safety
Selecta toys are manufactured in compliance with current European and international standards. Selecta's products are tested in accordance with the European standard for toys, from the earliest development phases through to their introduction to market
Selecta toys are also tested by the TUV Product Service for compliance with European Standard EN71 and are certified with the GS safety mark.
Selecta's toys are also tested and certified to ensure compliance with US standard ASTM.

Surface finishing
As a natural material, wood can be safely put into a child’s mouth. Selecta only uses environmentally- friendly and totally safe paints and lacquers which comply with EN71 and US safety standard ASTM.
Selecta were one of the first manufacturers to provide their toys with an additional coating of beeswax, which naturally finishes the surface with a very soft, velvety coating.
Using a special transfer printing process, Selecta are able to print colourful illustrations onto the wood itself. This process enables Selecta to produce very bright and brilliant colours, as well as providing a strong scratch resistant surface which can withstand saliva.

Warning
Selecta are legally obliged to attach warning notices to their toys. The purpose of these is to guarantee that the toy is used properly. Selecta also provide additional information about its use and age-based suitability.
The intention of the legislature is that this will counteract any risks which could occur by children using the toys incorrectly. Selecta would therefore recommend that you observe these warning notices and retain them for future use.


Environment
Selecta's objective is to sustain and protect our environment and to this end Selecta has already put in place a number of measures and are continuously working to improve these further.
Selecta primarily work with native woods, especially maple and in order to ensure that they do not fell more trees than are re-planted, they support sustainable forestry by working with PEFC/FSC-certified timber companies.

Selecta uses the woodchips left over from their production processes to meet their company’s entire heating requirement and continuously monitor and improve their production processes to make further energy savings and prevent CO² emissions.

Working conditions
Selecta has a duty to offer humane working conditions in our own production plants and demand the same from their suppliers. Selecta deals with their employees in a correct and proper manner and offer them a safe and healthy working environment. Selecta monitors their practices on an ongoing basis to ensure that they comply with all regulations relating to working hours, minimum wage and the ban on child labour.
