These ultra-safe, stick crayons and virtually indestructable block crayons by Stockmar are made from beeswax with no additives. They are environmentally friendly, natural crayons that are harmless to the environment and children's health.
Like all Stockmar European made paints, crayons and pencils, only the finest materials are used when making these crayons and independent testing ensure that the materials and manufacturing processes meet food safety standards. In short this means that the strict toy safety standard EN 71 (CE) for toys is exceeded by Stockmar when manufacturing their writing utensils.

Made in Germany the Stockmar Combination crayon set for children comes in a standard assortment of 8 beautiful colors and is the perfect gift for toddlers, children and adults enjoying art and who likes to explore/discover their creative and artistic skills on paper!

More about Stockmar - from their website:
Colour: For all Stockmar products, the selection and combination of primary colours is based on the natural graduation of the twelve-part colour-circle, in accordance with Goethe's colour theory.

This twelve-part colour-circle represents the natural progression of the colour spectrum - from yellow through red, blue and green, then back to yellow. The visible colours of the prismatic band can be broken down into the three primary colours - red, blue and yellow - and by combining these colours, we get all other visible colours.

In his study, Goethe examines colour from several different viewpoints. In his colour theory he first shows which physiological effects colours have on the human eye. His physics experiments with lenses and prisms then prove that colours emerge or develop for the observer between light and darkness. In addition, he examines the ""sensory-moral"" effect of colour on mind and soul. His chemical studies, on the other hand, deal with colour as tangible matter.

In cooperation with the School of Arts in Hamburg, Stockmar is envolved in further research on colours with respect to their sensual-moral and esthetic effects. Stockmar employees are encouraged to paint on a regular basis in order to gain personal experience in handling colours and observing their effects.

Stockmar's take on Quality control and Ecology: Educational, artistic and aesthetic aspects play an essential role in the development and improvement of Stockmar products.
Since the company was founded, developing products to serve people and to encourage their individual growth has been the essence of Stockmar's corporate identity. Our quality principles are based on these motives.
To ensure the development of products that are in keeping with these principles Stockmar has always selected the finest raw materials and manufacturing procedures. In cooperation with an independent institute, all raw materials are carefully selected and the manufacturing techniques controlled. This guarantees that Stockmar products are harmless to health and the environment .

Since Stockmar considers the standard specifications set by certain regulations to be too lax, own parameters have been established. For example, Stockmar doesn't consider the tests to be rigorous enough that are used to determine the limit for toxic substances in pens, paint and modelling wax, as defined in the EURONORM Din 71 (EN 71). Here the company therefore adheres to the standards specified in the food provision ordinance, which are much stricter than the regulations for the toy industry. In cases where no standards have even been set by the food provision ordinance, Stockmar has established its own parameters. In this way a strict internal quality-control system with more stringent standards has evolved. The Stockmar seal ""constant raw material control"" represents these company standards.

Stockmar offers an assortment of documents which you can download at no cost (www.stockmar.de). These pdf-files include a collection of product catalogs, instruction manuals and Stockmar's Tips & Tricks (up to now partly available in German only).
In the product infos you can find important details and information on Stockmar's products, and in the manuals you can find valuable ideas and tips for creative use of Stockmar products.

Thumbs up!
Beautiful colors, outstanding quality. My son was a little unsure of the block crayons, but i love that they dont break in his stubby little toddler fingers :) Posted by Sandi from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

Best of both worlds
This is a great way to try out the Stockmar crayons. My two year old can easily grasp the block crayons, and my six year old creates portraits with the stick crayons.

Learning to use the block crayons (getting rid of the sharp edges) took some practice, but now we all greatly enjoy them. Posted by Jessica from Goodsoil, Saskatchewan, Canada

Enhanced safety is worth the extra cost
Would definitely buy again. I feel better knowing these crayons are food grade - just in case my son or a friend tries to eat them.  Posted by Katherine Emilie from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
