Sweet little Claire is one of Kathe Kruse's first Ethnic Bath Baby Dolls and is wearing an adorable outfit. She has a pink hair band with a cheecky striped bow, blue pants with white dots and a pink top - just like my real baby sister! Little Claire has hand painted hair and is made in Europe from high quality vinyl free of phtalates and nonyphenol. The bath babies are the only Kathe Kruse dolls made of just vinyl. Claire's sweet facial features have been hand painted in the Kathe Kruse tradition. Your little girl can take this adorable doll with her into the bath tub or swimming pool. Bath Baby Claire has the perfect weight and the vinyl has just the right texture to ensure that this little doll will nestles nicely into your girl's arms.

Bath Baby Claire is an adorable European bath doll made in Germany by the doll making legend - Kathe Kruse.

The Kathy Kruze Doll Studio is the oldest German doll company that is still existing and working in the traditional way. Handwork, simplicity of design, integrity, and an aversion to gimmicks and fads are still very much a part of how the dolls are made. Each doll and item of doll clothing is made by hand and takes from 16 to 36 hours to make. During that time, it will pass through the hands of 8 to 10 craftspeople and artists. SKU 30801

I am unable to give you feedback from the childs mother because I havent made time in my schedule to arrange a visit! <br>I guess I assumed it would be a soft vinyl.<br><i>Dear Charlotte - thanks for your review.<br>Yes, the German made bath dolls is a hard vinyl because it is <b>SAFE</b>. Most soft vinyl is soft because it has all kinds of chemical softeners added to it to make it soft. These potentially dangerous and toxic chemicals leaches from the toy making it unsafe baby and children toys. <b>Studies have shown that these chemicals are potentially toxic for babies, infants, children and our environment</b>. Therefore, when you buy plastic or vinyl toys or products for your grandchildren you want to ensure that these toys are <b>bisphenol A (BPA) free and PVC free</b>.
