skip the training wheels!
We bought this for our eldest son when he was 3 and he was gliding by the end of day 1 with it. He moved onto a pedal bike without training wheels in 1.5 years. Now our youngest is enjoying the same Skuut, and at 3 years old will happily ride 6 or 7 km.
We don't have a problem with the weight at all. On particularly long rides I bring the bike trailer and when he gets tired I bungee it onto the back while he rides in the trailer.
Great fun for the wee ones!

The bike is a great size it would be perfect if they could make it lighter. Posted by Jennifer from New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada

Skuuting along
Loving the Skuut bike that our son got for his 2nd birthday. Hes very tall for his age and just able to start on it, but has been fascinated with bikes for the past year, and finally has one he can skuut along on!
Looking forward to watching him progress - hes already figured out that if you get on a slight incline its the best way to go! Posted by Dorothy from Nelson, British Columbia, Canada

Skuut Review
An absolutely essential toy for any "wheel crazy" boy. Great learning tool that grows with them. Quality was only ok. One of the wheel hubs has a large knot in the wood that I fear may crack soon, but hoping otherwise. I guess thats a by-product of being made in China. A little expensive considering its origin- personally, Id pay more if it wasnt made there knowing that it was manufactured with tighter environmental regulations and better quality.
Took my son (who just turned 2) about 1 week to figure it out. He is tall for 2 and fits the lowest seat height. Some 2 year olds may find it too big for a few months. Highly recommended. Posted by David from Milton, Ontario, Canada

Really cool little bike
We just bought this for our sons birthday, and cant wait for the snow to disappear. We first saw it on a Sesame Street clip featuring a girl in Amsterdam, and were really happy to find it available here. The bike itself is really cool and seems to be well put together. Cant wait for spring! Posted by Niki from Toronto, Ontario, Canada

A great ride!
The skuut is a cheaper version of the lik-a-bike but just as good. We bought it for our two year old but it took him a good six months before he was willing to try it. Now he zips along down sidewalks and even down small hills. We didnt buy him a tricycle and expect to forego training wheels because this bike develops such great balance. Got this for my 3 1/2 year old. Waiting for good weather to really test it out, but early indications are very positive. I have seen other friends children really enjoy these bikes, and are able to do 5km "skuuts" at 3 years of age.... heres hoping! Posted by Kerry from Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Flipping the cross-bar upsidedown has enabled our shortlegged 2-year old to enjoy his Skuut. Although there was some initial trepidation and disinterest, as he has figured out his balance, our son has more confidence in his abilities and his interest in riding his Skuut is increasing. The Skuut was a little difficult to assemble due to the short lenght of the bolts. The rear wheel had to be removed in order to expand the crossbar to accommodate the seat post Posted by Stephen from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

skuut bike
I got this bike for my sons third birthday thinking he would do well with it. He tried it once and is no longer interested. Hopefully next summer he will have better coordination. Service from ape to zebra was lightening fast!! Couldnt have asked for better. The bike itself is adorable, and very well made. Posted by Patti from Burlington, Ontario, Canada

great fun and learning
My son loves his Skuut! We got it when he was nearly 3.5 and on the first day he was gliding. He has ridden it long distances (6km) with complete enjoyment and it has enabled him to skip training wheels so he can ride a pedal bike as well before he is 4 years old (but he prefers his wooden bike). My only concern with the Skuut is that weve had problems with the handlbars (it was a quality issue, not abuse of the bike) but Ape2Zebra guarantees your purchase and they replaced the handle bars for us immediately. Great bike, great service.
Lynn thanks for your honest review about this great wooden balance bike. Customer service is very important for us and we will most certainly replace any defective parts if something should go wrong with any product you purchase at our toy store.
With regards to Skuut - Ape to Zebra is very excited to inform our customers that Skuut has been very pro-active getting all the quality issues sorted out and the new and improved Skuuts are now available at Ape to Zebra! Posted by Lynn from Toronto, Ontario, Canada
