Skuut Wooden Balance Toddler Bike by Skuut Wooden Ride-on Bike

Made in China by Skuut Wooden Ride-on Bike. Skuut Wooden Balance Bike for toddlers and kids
This fun wooden balance bike by Skuut may just be the only ride-on toy your child will need until he or she is 5 years old! Skuut is a great alternative to the more expensive Like A Bike wooden balance bike.
This well designed wooden framed bicycle by Skuut does not have pedals and children propel themselves with their feet. Skuut is a great way for your aspiring cyclist to learn balance and control while gaining a sense of independency. The European-style Skuut bicycle is sturdy and sized just right for growing legs. Skuut eliminates the need for training wheels (training wheels prevent a child's development of balance) and small children will gain key developmental skills along with beginning steps to learning to ride a two wheeled bicycle with pedals.

With Skuut, suddenly a trip to the supermarket, park or beach isn't a chore anymore! Small children love moving around and this fun first bike by Skuut enables them to independently move within the framework of their own capabilities and learn all the skills needed for riding a 'big bike'! The Skuut can be anything kids want it to be - a shiny Harley, fast racing horse or just their favorite Skuut bike - having fun walking, gliding, riding and skuuting around.

The Skuut bike is light weight, making it easy to take along on outings or vacations. Skuut is also designed with your child's safety in mind:
* The steering of the Skuut bike is designed to prevent children from turning too fast and tip over (a common mistake when learning to ride),
* the wheels are pneumatic with no spokes
* Padding ensures that fingers don't get pinched in the Skuut steering mechanism
* The Skuut's sleek European design not only makes is very attractive but also ensures that there are no sharp edges that can lead to injuries.
Skuut has a one year manufacturers guarantee!

Some common questions people have about the Skuut wooden balance bike:
What does Skuut mean?
An attractive wooden bike without pedals for young children. To push forward and glide with glee on this amazing Skuut ride-on toy bike.
How do you pronounce Skuut?
Skuut rhymes with hoot, toot and boot. Use it as in It's a hoot to Skuut!
Where do Skuuts come from?
The Skuut were designed by Dr. Peter Emblad in Marin County, California and are manufactured in China
Does the Skuut come with a warranty?
Skuut USA guarantees all Skuuts to be free of manufacturing defects for up to one year.
Is any assembly necessary for the Skuut?
The Skuut comes fully assembled except for the handlebars and front wheel, which are easily attached to the Skuut. Instructions are provided. All you need is a screwdriver and the Skuut can be fully assembled in no time at all! The Skuut's tires might need to be inflated. They can tolerate up to 40PSI, but Skuut suggests 20-25 PSI for best shock absorption on the Skuut.
How do you Skuut?
It is very easy to skuut. Sitting on the Skuut, kids first walk the Skuut bike forward with their feet - tilting to one side or the other and their feet catch them like training wheels would.
As they get more confident on the Skuut and their balance improve, they will go faster and start lifting their feet off the ground for longer and longer periods of time, ultimately being able to pull both feet off the ground and coast on the Skuut. Braking the Skuut is done Fred Flintstone style: kids just put their feet down and stop.
How old does a child have to be to ride the Skuut?
The Skuut is designed for children ages 2- 5.
How tall does your child need to be to control the Skuut comfortably?
Our two year old is about 40 inches tall and his feet are just about flat on the floor when the seat is in the lowest position on the Skuut.
BUT - The innovative design of the Skuut allows you to assemble the Skuut with the middle bar upside down, lowering the seat by several inches when assembled - allowing children with. SKU SKUUT

Too heavy
The bike is a great size it would be perfect if they could make it lighter. Posted by Jennifer from New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada

Skuuting along
Loving the Skuut bike that our son got for his 2nd birthday. Hes very tall for his age and just able to start on it, but has been fascinated with bikes for the past year, and finally has one he can skuut along on!

Looking forward to watching him progress - hes already figured out that if you get on a slight incline its the best way to go! Posted by Dorothy from Nelson, British Columbia, Canada

Skuut Review
An absolutely essential toy for any "wheel crazy" boy. Great learning tool that grows with them. Quality was only ok. One of the wheel hubs has a large knot in the wood that I fear may crack soon, but hoping otherwise. I guess thats a by-product of being made in China. A little expensive considering its origin- personally, Id pay more if it wasnt made there knowing that it was manufactured with tighter environmental regulations and better quality.

Took my son (who just turned 2) about 1 week to figure it out. He is tall for 2 and fits the lowest seat height. Some 2 year olds may find it too big for a few months. Highly recommended. Posted by David from Milton, Ontario, Canada

Really cool little bike
We just bought this for our sons birthday, and cant wait for the snow to disappear. We first saw it on a Sesame Street clip featuring a girl in Amsterdam, and were really happy to find it available here. The bike itself is really cool and seems to be well put together. Cant wait for spring! Posted by Niki from Toronto, Ontario, Canada

A great ride!
The skuut is a cheaper version of the lik-a-bike but just as good. We bought it for our two year old but it took him a good six months before he was willing to try it. Now he zips along down sidewalks and even down small hills. We didnt buy him a tricycle and expect to forego training wheels because this bike develops such great balance. Kerry, Calgary
Got this for my 3 1/2 year old. Waiting for good weather to really test it out, but early indications are very positive. I have seen other friends children really enjoy these bikes, and are able to do 5km "skuuts" at 3 years of age.... heres hoping! Posted by Kerry from Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Flipping the cross-bar upsidedown has enabled our shortlegged 2-year old to enjoy his Skuut. Although there was some initial trepidation and disinterest, as he has figured out his balance, our son has more confidence in his abilities and his interest in riding his Skuut is increasing. The Skuut was a little difficult to assemble due to the short lenght of the bolts. The rear wheel had to be removed in order to expand the crossbar to accommodate the seat post Posted by Stephen from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

skuut bike
I got this bike for my sons third birthday thinking he would do well with it. He tried it once and is no longer interested. Hopefully next summer he will have better coordination. Service from ape to zebra was lightening fast!! Couldnt have asked for better. The bike itself is adorable, and very well made. Posted by Patti from Burlington, Ontario, Canada

great fun and learning
My son loves his Skuut! We got it when he was nearly 3.5 and on the first day he was gliding. He has ridden it long distances (6km) with complete enjoyment and it has enabled him to skip training wheels so he can ride a pedal bike as well before he is 4 years old (but he prefers his wooden bike). My only concern with the Skuut is that weve had problems with the handlbars (it was a quality issue, not abuse of the bike) but Ape2Zebra guarantees your purchase and they replaced the handle bars for us immediately. Great bike, great service.
Lynn thanks for your honest review about this great wooden balance bike. Customer service is very important for us and we will most certainly replace any defective parts if something should go wrong with any product you purchase at our toy store.
With regards to Skuut - Ape to Zebra is very excited to inform our customers that Skuut has been very pro-active getting all the quality issues sorted out and the new and improved Skuuts are now available at Ape to Zebra! Posted by Lynn from Toronto, Ontario, Canada
