Twenty seven years ago I bought a very high quality (and priced!) train set for my sons. This set is very similar and the parts are somewhat interchangeable. However, I absolutely love the trains. Great improvement in the one I had. Cars can fit together and they STAY that way (rather than the hook and eye connector type). A fine amount of accessories come with it as well. While it is not cheap, it is worth the price. This one is highly recommended.
