Haba's toys feature materials generally found in nature. Haba purchases their wood, primarily Maple and Beech wood from long-term regional partners. Wood is naturally resistant to bacteria which makes it a great material for toys especially baby toys, baby teethers and baby grasping toys.
Haba only uses baby safe, water-based ecological solvent free lacquers on the surfaces of their wooden toys. Multiple lacquer layers render the surface of the toy extremely resistant to humidity, saliva and wear and tear, allowing the toy to be taken from the hand to the mouth at any time.

I got this toy after I noticed that the paint was chipping off another teether my daughter was using- Sophie the Giraffe Multi-Textured Rattle by Vulli. She doesnt use the Haba one as much but at least I know its safe for her to use!

This seems to be a popular choice for many parents, and I can see why. It is very well made, easy for babies to grab onto for noise making or chewing on, and best of all its safe and eco-friendly. I keep this in my purse for fussy moments while in the car or at a restaurant - very useful!
